Sderot is a small city in Southern Israel with one side of the city about a kilometer from the Gaza Strip border. Since the Israelis pulled their settlements out of Gaza in 2005, there have been thousands of rocket attacks on this city of 20,000.

These repetitive acts of murder are something American liberals ignore, and you'll never see it in the mainstream media.

Qassam rockets are also launched against other cities in the Southern region of Israel, such as Ashdad, Ashkelon, Beersheba (next town over from Sderot) Gedera, Kiryat Gat, Kiryat Malakhi, Netivot, Ofakim and Yavne. The most common weapon used in these attacks are known as Qassam rockets. These small rockets are built in small weld shops and garages in the Gaza Strip. They are built by the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades of the Hamas terror organization. There are also other rockets smuggled in from Iran that have been used, but these are more difficult for the Palestinians to acquire.
The Qassam rocket is a steel tube filled with a propellant and an explosive warhead. They are not technologically advanced, nor expensive to produce. They are simply launched from the ground using a metal frame for a launch platform, and fired in the general direction of Sderot. There are three generations of the simple rocket weapons, with a range of 3 to 10 kilometers. In this post, there are pictures and a video to give you a much better idea. Most of these rockets land harmlessly in the desert, yet there have been dozens of deaths caused by these indiscriminate weapons. Perhaps the most famous incident was the Israeli school bus carrying children that was hit.
Frequently, Qassam rockets are fired from behind schools, daycare centers, hospitals, residential areas, and other innocuous places, thereby making it more difficult for the Israelis to fire back without negative publicity from the left-dominated media. Hiding behind children and other soft targets. A truly cowardly act by the Palestinian Hamas terrorists. Should the Israelis fire one bullet in retaliation, the liberal media feasts on it. This dishonest media bias is a major problem in the United States, where the liberal media only reports what fits their political agenda, and the reality gets left behind. Since 2005, over 10,000 Qassam rockets have been fired into the Northern Negev of Southern Israel. Sderot is the most dangerous city in Israel. A very common phrase, known to all residents of Sderot is the Hebrew term Tzeva Odom, which is the equivalent in English to “Color Red” or “Code Red.” Sderot residents know that when they hear those words broadcast over loudspeakers, that they have 15 seconds to seek cover.

There are true news sources that need to be accessed in order to get the truth, but most people get their news from the disreputable mainstream organizations. The American mainstream media is no longer the watchdog for the people. It has become a nearly totalitarian arm of the Democrat liberal government that does little more than act as a cheerleading arm for the Democrats and liberals, most of whom seem to have been taken over by the extreme leftist socialist/communist radicals. Most liberal websites are now funded or heavily influence by these radical extremists, and lies are abundant, and getting worse by the day.
Now, it is more than common for MAINSTREAM news and media outlets to attack the MAJORITY of the AMERICAN PEOPLE in vicious, slanderous attacks, and attempt to marginalize us with the omission of real news items, very biased slanting, outright gross lies, and violent rheotoric. ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, NPR, the Washington Post, New York Times and innumerable websites such as the Daily KOS, MediaMatters, MoveOn.org, ThinkProgress and many others are complicit in this great national act of treason against the very people of the United States.

Since 2009, there has been a steady increase in popular opinion shifting away from the good and innocent people of Israel, whose only crime is to protect their ancestral homeland of over 3,000 years. Under President Barack Obama, the liberal left has been mislead from their original ideals of tolerance, to supporting the Hamas and Hezbollah terrorists, considering them to be the victims when clearly the truth is the total opposite. The Israelis have the right to defend their sovereign nation against enemy attack and murder. The Palestinians have made murder, warfare, intifada and the destruction of Israel their primary goal in life. It is the Palestinians who are firing Qassam rockets into Israel, not the other way around.
This can be disputed until one is blue in the face, but the fact is, the Jews, nearly exterminated to extinction in Hitler’s Holocaust in Europe, had grown weary of being persecuted and shuffled all over the globe, and decided to take back their ancestral homeland. In 1948, this was formally achieved with a declaration of the sovereign nation of Israel. In 1948, the United States was the first nation on Earth to formally recognize the legitimacy of the state of Israel. After the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, Israel was the only nation in the Middle East to fly their own flag at half-mast in our honor. Now Obama and his liberal followers are consistently bashing Israel. How times have changed!
I refuse to abandon our good friends and allies in Israel. I will not be mislead by the immoral criminal in the White House, whose policies towards Israel have been horrendously dangerous, destructive and destabilizing. President Barack Obama has consistently treated Benjamin Netanyahu, a fine and honorable gentleman and the Prime Minister of Israel like garbage. The Palestininans, with the help of the UN, want to declare a state in part of what is ISRAEL, including a large part of Jerusalem. This would be an unimaginable tragedy. Right now, under Israeli rule, the Holy Sites of Jerusalem including Jewish, Christian and Muslim sites are open to all, allowing people of all three religions to freely pursue the worship of their choice in peace. Make no mistake, and offer no argument, because the unescapable truth is that the Muslims have no such desires. They’d close off the Muslim sites to all but themselves, and DESTROY THE REST. It’s true! You know it and I know it. One would have to be brain damaged to think that the Palestinians would be peaceful. The world must not allow this unbelievable travesty! Obviously, the Israelis will NOT accept the creation of a Palestinian state in the center of their sovereign nation. Do you blame them?

Dozens have been killed by these rockets. Apparently, Amercian liberals support this terrorist activity, and instead of supporting our Israeli friends, find some perverse comfort in supporting the Hamas terrorists who fire them. Just because it has become popular for American liberals to blindly and mindlessly follow Obama's evil policies without questioning them.
What follows is NOT a commercial endorsement, but rather just my personal recommendation and observations.
There is a website, Rockets into Roses, that collects pieces of these spent rockets that have landed and exploded in Israel, mostly from the Sderot area. These pieces of metal are worked and crafted into steel roses and other art objects, and sold at a moderate and reasonable price.
Some of the proceeds of each sale are donated to LifeShield, an organization that builds small armored shelters in which Israeli citizens take cover in the event of an attack. Generally, during a rocket attack, one has about 15 seconds to find shelter. These shelters are located in areas where people are likely to be going about their daily lives.
Once again, I am not promoting this product for commercial purposes, nor am I paid in order to do so. I was simply so impressed with this undertaking that I felt I should share it. What could be more cool than taking an ugly, crude weapon of hate and murder, and turning it into a work of art, the sale of which helps protect the people of Sderot, Israel? Is that cool or what? I am more than happy to pay to acquire a piece of this imaginative and creative artwork for a very great cause.
